Join us for the 5th Annual “Pick Up Gettysburg!” event on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 2 to 4 PM at the Gettysburg Recreational Park (GARA), near the basketball courts. This community cleanup effort honors the legacy of Rodney Edmond, who, along with his daughter Miraya, dedicated many hours to beautifying our town.
Rodney Edmond, a beloved community member, passed away on August 1, 2020. He was well-known for walking around Gettysburg with his daughter, picking up litter and distributing flowers to passersby. In remembrance of Rodney’s spirit and dedication, the “Pick Up Gettysburg!” event encourages community members to come together to keep Gettysburg beautiful.
The event is organized by Voices Unite, a local community group committed to fostering unity and support among residents. The Gettysburg Police Department also supports the event, recognizing Rodney and Miraya’s contributions to the community.
