GASD Coffee and Conversation set for Oct. 24

The Gettysburg Area School District (GASD) is inviting families and community members to its first Coffee & Conversations event on Thursday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Norris-Wachob Alumni House on the Gettysburg College campus.

The event, hosted by the district’s Family Navigators, offers residents a chance to enjoy free coffee while engaging in open discussion with School Police Officers about how they help maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for students. The goal is to strengthen community connections and increase transparency around the district’s school safety programs.

Coffee & Conversations is planned to continue as a monthly series, each session focusing on a different topic related to student well-being and school safety.

The Family Navigators program—part of GASD’s Student Assistance Program—serves as a key link between families, schools, and community resources. Navigators help parents access mental health support, academic assistance, and social services to ensure that every student can thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Their work often includes connecting families with counseling, tutoring, and essential support services such as food and housing assistance.

It’s in the middle of campus. If you use google maps and type in “Norris wachob alumni house” it will take you right to it!

The event is this Friday, October 24 starting at 10 AM and lasts until 12 PM. Location for the meeting is the Norris-Wachob Alumni House on the Gettysburg College campus which is a white home/building close to Glatfetler Hall. Free parking is available in the Constitution Parking Lot. Hope this helps!
