Vergie M. Beamer, age 88 of Wenksville, passed away October 31, 2025 at Gettysburg Hospital. She was born June 15, 1937 in Hanover to the late Percy and Edith M. (Brown) Laughman. Vergie was the widow of Paul E. Beamer.
She was retired from Knouse Foods, a member of the Wenksville United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. She also loved listening to country music, especially Hank Williams Sr.
She is survived by her children: Barbara A. Baker and husband, Wayne of Orrtanna, Diane L. VanMetre of Biglerville, and Michael P. Beamer Sr. and wife, Jennifer of Elk County; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Lecrone of Towanda, PA, and Betty Codero and husband, Dennis, of Aspers. Vergie was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon K. Pritt; granddaughters, Sonja VanMetre and Jessica Pritt; sister, Dorothy Zartman, and brother, Richard Laughman.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville, where friends will be received on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Todd McCauslin will officiate the funeral. Vergie will be laid to rest at Wenksville Cemetery.
