After moving to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Carolyn continued her work as an administrative assistant at Kreisher and McCoy Insurance and later at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Carolyn’s greatest joy was her family. She supported her daughters in all their pursuits and, for the past 25 years, cherished hosting weekly Tuesday family dinners. Deeply devoted to her faith, she served in ministry in Maine and Pennsylvania as a Bible study teacher, counselor, and mentor. She founded Heartlink, a mentoring ministry designed to bring women of all ages together to love, guide, and support one another.

Creative and compassionate, Carolyn loved reading, sewing, painting, gardening, and summers in Maine. She was always ready with a meal, a listening ear, or a welcoming home. Her life radiated the love of Christ with grace and kindness.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, William and Eunice Pitts of Yarmouth, Maine, and her sister, Sharon Horne of Yarmouth, Maine. She is survived by her husband, Reverend David Dunn, her sister, Elizabeth Ritsch of Grants Pass, Oregon, three daughters, Paula Powell (Jeffrey) of Dayton Ohio, Bethany Morgan (Ray), Krista Kriel (Daniel), her seven granddaughters, Jillian Walsh (Gregory), Ashley Zwissler (Kevin), Julia Staggs (Bradley), Jacqueline Kehr, Heather Morgan, Hannah King (Chase), Paige Kriel and six great-grandchildren, Benedict Walsh, Atticus McDaniel, Siobhan Walsh, Camden King, Nicholas Walsh and Hallie King.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 29th, 11:00 am at Swift Run Church in Gettysburg. There will be a light lunch after the service. A private interment will be held for family only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Swift Run Church or Adams County Rescue Mission.
