Harriet Shull Ketterman, “Hatty”, 87, Gettysburg, PA, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
She was born April 6, 1938, in Adams County, to the late Samuel V. and Grace Richwine Shull. She and her husband, Paul H. Ketterman, Jr., were to celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary this month.
Hatty began her career with the telephone company and in nursing home care. Later, she enjoyed many years as a dental assistant for Dr. Ray Drum and Dr. Bettina McBeth. After retirement, she spent most of her time at her favorite beach, Ocean City, MD. Her greatest joy was raising her three children, Kimberly Palmer (Tommy) of Ocean City, MD, Kevin Ketterman of Pittsburgh, PA, and Kent Ketterman (Tawn) of York, PA. Hatty, affectionately known as “Mammy,” loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active member of the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church for 70 years.
Hatty is survived by her husband, three children, nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a sister, Nancy Snead.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. Private interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
