At its meeting yesterday, the Gettysburg Borough Council:
Scheduled a public hearing and special meeting for Monday, January 12, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. to gather public comments and recommendations regarding a proposed intermunicipal transfer of Pennsylvania Liquor License No. R16082 into the Borough of Gettysburg.
The application will be submitted by Jay Dipoma 8, Inc., which is seeking approval to use the transferred license at 29 North Washington Street. During the hearing, residents and other interested individuals will have the opportunity to speak about the proposed transfer, ask questions, or provide input on how the license may affect the neighborhood, business district, or community character.
The Borough’s action is required by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board’s rules for intermunicipal transfers, which mandate that the receiving municipality hold a public hearing prior to approving or denying the request. The Council will use the testimony and information gathered at the hearing to determine whether to support the transfer when the final approval vote is brought forward.
Established its legislative agenda for 2026, identifying several major ordinance and policy initiatives to be taken up during the year. These include revisions to the 2016 Sidewalk Ordinance, updates to the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO), and changes to the Historic District Replacement Materials regulations. The legislative agenda also calls for development and adoption of a new Design Guide and updates to the Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB) Ordinance.
