The Littlestown Police Department will once again invite the community to help brighten the holidays for local children as it holds its annual “Stuff the Squad Car” toy drive on Saturday, Dec. 20. The event will run from 1 to 3 p.m. in the police station parking lot at 41 South Columbus Avenue.
Residents are encouraged to stop by and fill police cruisers with new toys benefiting the Toys for Tots program, which supports families in need during the holiday season. Officers will be on hand to greet donors, accept contributions, and hand out treats as a thank-you to those who participate.
The department has made the toy drive a yearly tradition, relying on community generosity to make it a success. Donations must be unopened and in their original packaging. Monetary donations are also accepted but must be placed in a sealed envelope with the amount written on the front. Checks should be made payable to Toys for Tots and enclosed in an envelope labeled with both the amount and check number.
Organizers say the event offers a simple way for residents to support children and families facing hardship and helps ensure that holiday gifts reach as many households as possible. Previous years have seen squad cars packed to capacity, and the department hopes to match or surpass those efforts again this year.
The toy collection will take place outdoors in the station lot, making for easy drive-up drop-offs. Community members of all ages are welcome to participate, and even small contributions can make a meaningful difference.
Littlestown Police encourage anyone able to donate to stop by during the two-hour window and help fill the vehicles. The goal, they say, is to send every squad car out overflowing with toys and spread some holiday cheer across the region.
