Daryl A. Rinehart, 80, of Biglerville, passed away December 19, 2025, at Shippensburg Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Daryl A. Rinehart was born June 22, 1945, in York County. He was the son of the late Lewis F. and Kathryn E. (Boyer) Rinehart. He graduated from Susquehannock High School in 1963 and Catonsville Community College in 1981.
Mr. Rinehart was employed at Black & Decker, Inc., Hampstead, Maryland, for 23 years. He was then employed by ESAB in Hanover for 19 years. Daryl retired from ESAB in January 2007.
Daryl entered the United States Army in October 1965 and served until September 1967. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1966-1967.
After completing his military obligation, Mr. Rinehart became very active in veterans’ affairs. He is a life member and past Commander of Ocker-Snyder American Legion Post #321, Littlestown; life member of VFW Mason-Dixon Memorial Post #6954 of Littlestown; life member of Veterans of Vietnam War, Headquarters Post; life member of Disabled Veterans Charles W. McCleary Chapter #78, Chambersburg; past Commander of the Littlestown Allied Veterans Council; and past Commander of the Adams County Allied Veterans.
In 1985, Mr. Rinehart was honored by receiving the prestigious Post Commander of the Year award from the 22nd District of the American Legion of the State of Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years (Married on April 3, 1993), Judy L. Rinehart. He is also survived by one daughter, Tracey Willet, Littlestown; one son, Travis Rinehart and his wife, Nicole, of Smyrna Georgia; two step-sons, Robert L. Taylor, of Biglerville, William G. Taylor, of Manchester; one step-daughter, Andrea C. Taylor, of Biglerville; one granddaughter, Morgan Myers (Clayton), of West Virginia; two step-granddaughters, Courtney and Mikayla Taylor; two step-grandsons, Gavin Taylor and Liam Avery; one grandson, Paxton Rinehart; three sisters, Shelva Walsh of North Carolina, Ardella Markle of Hanover, LaDawna Mays and husband, Jon, of Glen Rock; one brother, Dwayne and his wife, Lori, of York-New Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Wenksville United Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and served on the Veterans Committee.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S. Main Street in Bendersville. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S. Main Street in Bendersville. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest in Bendersville Cemetery with military honors.
