Donovan A. Whyte, 64, of Gettysburg, PA, died Tuesday morning, December 23, 2025, at his home with his fiancé, Cheryl, and step-daughter, Hollie, by his side.
Born September 6, 1961, in Kingston, Jamaica, he was raised by his late grandmother, Alma E. Whyte, and his late father, Devon Whyte. He is survived by his fiancé, the love of his life, Chery Farlow, of Gettysburg.
Donovan worked as a tile carrier at DalTile for six years. In his free time, he enjoyed motor racing, going to South Mountain Drag Races, and especially to Hunterstown Raceway to watch his grandson race. He also enjoyed going to his grandson’s football games at Biglerville High School, the beach, the casino, and a cold Heineken.
In addition to his fiancé, Donovan is survived by his son, DeAndre Whyte, three step-children, Hollie Shank, Justin Gebhart, Jeremy Hoffman, six grandchildren, Trentin, Mariyah, Aidan, Layton, Jeremiah, Caleb, one great-grandchild, Baby TJ, and his two siblings, Michael and Theresa in Jamaica.
