Christ Lutheran Church, at 30 Chambersburg Street in Gettysburg, welcomed the New Year with a family-friendly open house on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025. The celebration ran from 7 to 10 p.m. and drew parishioners, neighbors, volunteers, and community members for an evening of music, activities, and fellowship.
Guests enjoyed free live entertainment, light refreshments, and children’s activities in a warm, welcoming atmosphere designed for families to celebrate together. The evening’s lineup featured magician John Wolfe, the Just Friends Jazz Quartet, and the Elkiss Piano & Violin Duo, along with face painting for younger attendees.
The celebration concluded with a candlelight worship service at 9:40 p.m. Christ Lutheran Church is the oldest church building in Gettysburg still in continuous use for religious worship. Organizers noted that the annual New Year’s Eve gathering has been held for more than a decade and encouraged newcomers to join in future years as the event continues to grow.
