Obituary: Pamela J. Frankenfield

Pamela J. Frankenfield, 81, of Gettysburg, PA, died Thursday afternoon, January 1, 2026, at Bryant Wood Manor Memory Care, Columbia, MD.

Born December 6, 1944, in Upland, CA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Wanda (Barnett) Thielsen. She was the wife of Howard Frankenfield of Gettysburg, to whom she was married for 45 years.

Pamela was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving actively from 1965-1967 then with the Navy Reserves from 1978-1988 as a photojournalist. She worked as a police officer in Canton, OH, and later on the campus of the University of California, Davis. After her law enforcement career, she worked as a National Park Service Park Ranger at the Eisenhower National Historic site in Gettysburg from 1995 to 2014.

In addition to her husband, Pamela is survived by her daughter, Deborah Little, of Pearl River, LA, two grandchildren, Robert Keppler and Mary Kepler, and her brother, Brian Thielsen, of Morris Chappel, TN. She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Suciu.

A Memorial Service with Military Honors presented by the Adams County Allied Veterans will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the USO, P.O. Box 96860, Washington, DC 20077.
