Obituary: Carl Harold Holm

Carl Harold Holm, 101, of Paramount Senior Living, Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026.

He was born on November 10, 1924, the son of the late Carl Emanuel and Marie Cecelia (Johnson) Holm.

Carl grew up in Chicago, joined the U.S. Army Air Corps, and became a fighter pilot flying a P38 in World War II. Following his service, he graduated from Miami University with a degree in Engineering. After college, he owned and operated a sheep ranch in California until he moved to Winter Haven, FL, to join his father in the citrus business. After he retire,d he moved to Fairfield with his wife Ethel.

Carl is survived by his daughters; Deb Holm of California, Vickie Gastley and her husband Mike of Fairfield, PA, a son, Jeff Riggeal and his wife Susan of Florida, grandchildren; Cerissa and her husband Willie, Lance and Sandy of California, Jerrica and her husband Jeremiah, Josh and his wife April of Fairfield, PA, great grandchildren; Devon and his wife Kayla, Cerelia, Jayce of California, Zach, Kierdyn, Kaylyn, Jansen, Ella, Mia, Nora of Fairfield, PA, Autumn, Shane, Brooks – his golfing buddy, Brian, Kyle, Stephanie and her husband Emerson, Brent and his wife Allie, great great grandchildren; Slade of Fairfield, PA, Aidan, Maverick, Carson, Kendall of Florida, a sister, Marian “Tootie” Moseley and his favorite niece, Barbara and her daughter Karin of Florida.

Carl is predeceased by his wife Ethel (Weller) Holm, his parents, 3 sons: Chris Holm, Greg Holm, and Ronnie Riggeal, a brother, Howard Holm, a brother-in-law, Captain Richard Moseley, and his best friend, Roy.

Carl loved the outdoors; he loved to fish, hunt, and fly his Mooney single-engine plane. He also enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. He was quite a storyteller with 100 years of stories.
