Obituary: Ronald W. Asper

Ronald W. Asper, 84, Gettysburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at his home.

He was born June 16, 1941, in Gettysburg, PA, the son of the late Wayne Asper and Regina Kane Asper of Gettysburg, PA. Ron is survived by his wife, Donna Dewees Asper, to whom he was married for 64 years, as well as his mother, Regina.

Ron was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where he was an usher for over 60 years. He graduated from Delone Catholic High School. Following high school, he began his career at Inland Container Corporation in Biglerville, PA. He started as a scheduler, then moved to the sales department and finally became a Service Representative, the position he held until his retirement. Ron was a member of the Biglerville American Legion, the Biglerville Fire Company, the Hanover Elks, Fairfield AmVets, the Gettysburg Eagles, and a life member of the Adams County Fish and Game Association.

In addition to his wife and mother, Ron is survived by two daughters; Dawn Cutshall and her husband Jerry of Biglerville, PA, Beth Mallare and her husband Chris of Dacula, GA, five grandchildren; David Cutshall, Kelly Reed and her husband Kodi, Cameron Mallare, Kayleigh Mallare, and Morgan Mallare, a sister, Donna Rosato and her partner Mike Zeigler of Bangor, PA, a sister-in-law, Connie Asper of Biglerville, PA and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Phil Asper.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Noon. Private interment will be in Annunciation Catholic Cemetery, McSherrystown, PA. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the Mass.
