Jeffery M. Williams, 73, Gettysburg, PA, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
He was born August 2, 1952, in Gettysburg, PA, the son of the late John and Marguerite (Lee) Williams, Sr. Jeffery is survived by his wife, Linda (Crabbs) Williams, a daughter, Lauren Michelle Williams and her fiancé Patrick Rafferty of Chicago, five grandchildren; London Michael, Jadrian Michael, Kamryn Michelle, Vayda Mae, and Rue Ellen, two brothers; John and (Pia) Williams, Jr. of Sterling, VA, Darryl and (Lisa) Williams of Hanover, PA and a sister, Marijon and (Reggie) Young of Philadelphia, PA., as well as numerous nieces and nephews who he cared for deeply. He was predeceased by his son, Chad M. Williams, and 6 siblings: Paula Hill, Mitchell Williams, Gregory Williams, Diane Weaver, Leslie Roberts, and Damon Williams.
Jeffery graduated from Frostburg State University, where he was elected to the Sports Hall of Fame for his outstanding contributions to the track and field program. Later, he earned a master’s in communications and production from McDaniel College. He was the videographer of their football team, which led him to work for NFL Films, capturing the Ravens’ summer practices. He spent his career as an art teacher, teaching elementary school early in his career, then later teaching in the York City School District, where he retired. He was a devoted and fun-loving teacher who inspired many of his students. Following his retirement, he began a second career as an Adjunct Professor at Gettysburg College, teaching film and video production, retiring after 10 years in 2021. Jeffery was a joyful person who loved to sing and dance anywhere and everywhere, always finding ways to make those around him laugh. He had a gift for “pushing buttons” in a way that challenged and encouraged others to grow. He enjoyed running and bicycling and had a deep appreciation for cinema, media, and production. Above all, he treasured time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 27th at 11 am at Gettysburg Four Square Church, 328 W Middle St, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
