Donald L. Landis, 80, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, in his home. He was born on January 10, 1946, in Carlisle to the late Daniel J. and Ruth A. (Shaffer) Landis.
Donald was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School class of 1963. He then went on to the electronic institute in Steelton, where he obtained a first-class FCC license. Donald was a United States Army National Guard veteran, serving during Vietnam. He retired from ABC 27 News in 2004 as the chief engineer, with 36 years of service. Donald was a member of the American Legion Post 674 in Mt. Holly Springs. He was a woodworker, carpenter, and engineer, and strived for perfection in everything he did. In his spare time, he enjoyed growing things in his garden.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jane (Garman) Landis of Carlisle; two children, Eric Landis (Darcy) of Colorado and Donna Hockley (Matthew) of Gardners; grandchildren, Henry, Franklin, and Matilda Landis, Meghan Stevenson-Miller (Cody), Britton, Evan, and David Hockley; and great grandchildren, Ace and Cyrus Miller.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susquehanna Service Dogs, 1078 Gravel Hill Road, Grantville, PA 17028. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
