Shirley A. Keane, 85, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at Hawthorne Woods Nursing Home in Strabane, PA, on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Born May 1, 1940, in Premier, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charley & Edith Lee (Lucas) Mahaffey.
Shirley was raised on the family farm and spent her life working hard and keeping her family together, and making her legendary Cherry Cheese Pie. She was the devoted wife of Thomas A. Keane, Sr., who died in 2014.
Shirley enjoyed gardening, camping, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Shirley loved her family and friends and will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Keane, Jr. (Judy) and John Keane, three grandchildren, Jessica Grim (Dewey), Samantha Bell (Dan), and Bradley Keane, her great-grandson, Conner, and a wide circle of friends. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Monahan Funeral Home, 27 East Main St., Fairfield, PA. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1380 Chambersburg Rd., Gettysburg, PA. A Viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral services at the funeral home.
