Ruth R. Hess, 89, of Gettysburg, PA, died Sunday Morning, March 22, 2026, at York Hospital.
Born November 27, 1936, in Cumberland County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert R. and Sara A. (Zepp) Trump. She was the wife of the late Thomas M. Hess, Sr., to whom she was married for 71 years, before he passed on August 18, 2025.
Mrs. Hess worked as a secretary for the Gettysburg Engineering for over 30 years. She was a member of the New Oxford High School Class of 1954. She was an active member at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church and Gettysburg United Methodist Church.
Ruth is survived by her five children, Thomas M. Hess, Jr., of York, PA, Kathy Clark, of Thomasville, PA, John Hess, of Collegeville, PA, Nancy Cullison, of Gettysburg, PA, Sandy Beats, of Hanover, PA, 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Wilson, her grandson, Brian Wilson, and her brother, Dale Trump.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
