Alexa (Lexi) Connelly has been named Executive Director of Gettysburg Community Theatre, where she will oversee the organization’s operations, administration, and strategic coordination in partnership with the theatre’s Artistic Director and leadership team. Alexa brings a strong background in organizational leadership, operations management, and human resources, along with a deep personal connection to the theatre and its community.
Alexa first became involved with Gettysburg Community Theatre in 2013, volunteering both on stage and behind the scenes in technical roles. Over the years, she has contributed in many areas of the organization and developed a strong understanding of the theatre’s operations and volunteer-driven culture. In 2024, she joined the theatre’s Steering Committee as Volunteer Coordinator, where she helped support volunteer engagement and organizational coordination.

Professionally, Alexa has held leadership roles in operations and human resources, where she has developed expertise in team leadership, organizational systems, and customer service. In her role as Executive Director, she will focus on strengthening operational systems, supporting productions and programming, and ensuring Gettysburg Community Theatre continues to thrive as a safe and welcoming creative space for children, artists, volunteers, and audiences throughout the region.
Carrie Conklin is a theater artist, musician, and educator who will be serving as the Artistic Director at GCT. She is dedicated to creating engaging, high-quality theatrical productions that inspire both artists and audiences. She appreciates that participation in a community theater is valued beyond the stage – discovering more about who we are by connecting with other people and with characters that have a story to tell.
Carrie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Music Education/Performance from Michigan State University and her Master’s Degree in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College. She is certified in Somatic Voicework in Contemporary Commercial Music through Shenandoah University and Piano Pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She has been on the directing team at GCT since 2013 and has directed in several other theaters. She taught music and directed the chorus for Frederick County Public Schools for 20 years.
As the Artistic Director, Carrie will oversee season selection, artistic vision, and production development, while working closely with directors, designers, performers, and volunteers.
When she is not in rehearsal or planning a season, Carrie enjoys traveling and spending time with her two daughters, Tessa and Audrey.
GCT, located at 49 York Street in Gettysburg, is a performing arts facility that specializes in quality theatre arts education, performance, and volunteer opportunities.
