Biglerville Elementary now accepting applications for Pre-K Counts program

Families in the Upper Adams School District have an opportunity to enroll their children in a free early childhood education program, as Biglerville Elementary School begins accepting applications for the 2026–27 Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts program.

The state-funded initiative is designed to prepare young learners for kindergarten by offering a structured, high-quality preschool experience at no cost to eligible families. The program focuses on building foundational skills in literacy, math, and social development while providing a supportive and engaging classroom environment.

Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts is part of a statewide effort to expand access to early education and ensure children enter kindergarten ready to learn. At Biglerville Elementary, the program emphasizes learning through a combination of play, exploration, and teacher-led instruction. Certified educators guide students through daily activities that promote both academic growth and social interaction.

School officials say one of the key strengths of the program is its classroom structure. With small class sizes, teachers are able to provide individualized attention and tailor instruction to meet each child’s needs. The goal is to foster confidence and independence while helping students develop the skills necessary for long-term success in school.

In addition to academic readiness, the program also supports families by offering a high-quality preschool option that may otherwise be financially out of reach. By removing cost barriers, the initiative aims to ensure that all children in the community have access to early learning opportunities.

Applications for the upcoming school year are now available. Families can obtain application packets in both English and Spanish through multiple channels. Printed forms are being distributed directly by the school, and digital copies can be downloaded online through the district’s website at the Upper Adams School District Pre-K Counts application page. Because enrollment is limited, district officials encourage families to apply as soon as possible to secure a spot. Eligibility requirements and additional details are included within the application materials.

Parents or guardians with questions about the program or application process are encouraged to contact Biglerville Elementary School for assistance.

The Pre-K Counts program continues to serve as an important entry point into the educational system, helping young learners build the academic and social foundation needed for a successful transition into kindergarten.
