Loraine Petzolt, 83, of Orrtanna, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on November 14, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Teresa Iglesias. Loraine was the devoted and loving wife of Walter M. Petzolt, with whom she shared 44 wonderful years of marriage filled with companionship, laughter, and countless memories.
Loraine was the heart of her family. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she found her greatest happiness in simply being together—whether around the table, on the phone sharing stories, or gathered for celebrations big and small. Her laughter was contagious, her presence uplifting, and her love unwavering.
She had a special gift for crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that will remain cherished keepsakes for years to come. Each stitch reflected her patience, creativity, and the deep love she had for those she made them for.
Loraine also shared a close and joyful bond with her beloved dog, Star. She and her husband enjoyed many drives and trips together, embracing both new adventures and the simple joys of everyday life. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, expressed openly through her generosity, strength, and the way she brought light and energy into every room she entered.
Those who knew Loraine will remember her as strong, spirited, and full of life. She had a vibrant personality, a great sense of humor, and a way of making others feel welcome and at ease. She faced life’s challenges with determination and grace, while continuing to lift up those around her with her warmth and laughter.
She was a dedicated member of Iron Springs Brethren in Christ Church, where her faith and sense of community were an important part of her life.
In addition to her husband, she is lovingly remembered by her children: Barbara Ashcraft and her husband Dennis; John Ringel and his wife Linda; Eric Ringel and his wife Stacey; Dawn Witmer, widow of the late Jeff; and Jack Ringel and his wife Nicol; her stepdaughter, Dawn Smallwood and her husband Donald; and her brother, Frank Iglesias and his wife Gloria; “adopted daughter” Darlene Quinn
She leaves behind a large and loving family of grandchildren—John, Christina, Sean, Dayna, Lynn, Michael, Jack, Walter, Cameron, Arianna, Jenny, Trevor, Travis, Carter, Donald, and Benjamin—as well as ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Iglesias, Jr.; her sister, Joan Noviello; her granddaughter, Ashley Smallwood; her grandson, Hans DiOrio; and her stepson, Richard Petzolt.
