Eric J. Hewitt, age 65 of Gettysburg, PA, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 26, 2026, after a long battle with ALS.
Born July 20, 1960, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Harry & Hilda Hewitt. Eric is survived by his wife, Carla (Loftis) Hewitt.
He owned & operated J.C. Services, a landscaping business in Gettysburg, for many years before his illness. He was a member of the Gettysburg United Methodist Church. Eric enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, cooking, and feeding birds in his backyard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Chris, Tommy, and Seth Hewitt, step-daughter, Kelly Baldwin-Rayner, grandson, Kyle, and five siblings, Colleen, Laurel, James, Sandra Hewitt, and Donna Wetzel. Eric was predeceased by a step-son, Kenneth Baldwin, and six siblings, Lois Fellers, Kerri, Dennis, Ronald, David, and Sharon Hewitt.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. The Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg is assisting the family with the arrangements.
