Obituary: Margaret Ellen Hassinger

Margaret “Peg” Ellen Hassinger, 95, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in the Harmony at West Shore Home. She was born on October 8, 1930, in Milroy, PA, to the late Clyde William and Edna Alberta (Treaster) Stuck. Peg was the widow of Randall C. Hassinger, who passed away in August of 2000.

Peg retired from Mellon Bank in Mechanicsburg, where she served as a Senior Bank teller. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg. Peg enjoyed volunteering her time to help Meals on Wheels.

Surviving are her children, Rex C. Hassinger of New York, Kirk R. Hassinger (Sue) and Todd B. Hassinger both of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Miles Hassinger, Margo (Andy) Muza, Scott (Tanya) Mattern, Natalie (Rob) Lewis, Stephanie, Benjamin, York and Katie (Matt Richmond) Hassinger; great grandchildren, Julian Gruver, Sayde Hassinger, Miranda and Brayden Albright, Randall Hassinger, Julia and Marshall Hemphill, Memphis and Gracelyn Lewis, Christian, Kyra, Caitlyn, Alexis, Brayden Mattern, Cleo and Halle Jae Richmond; great great granddaughter, Harlee Ann Brown. In addition to her parents and husband, Peg was preceded in death by her grandson, James Wilson, and daughter-in-law, Lynette Hassinger.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the First United Methodist Church, 135 W. Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, First United Methodist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs, PA.
