Donald “Dusty” R. Adkins, 74, of Littlestown, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Weikert’s Care Home. He was the loving husband of Marlene Y. (DeGroft) Adkins, Littlestown; together they shared 56 years of marriage.
Born October 30, 1951, in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Russell and Martha (Wilson) Adkins.
Donald drove a truck for Lehigh Cement in Union Bridge, MD, and attended First Baptist Church in Littlestown. A farm boy at heart, he had a strong work ethic and had a great love for his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Amy Hartley (William), Fairfield, PA and Dana Adkins-Patterson (James), Littlestown, PA; sisters, Doris Mikesell, Hanover, PA and Miriam Stoner, Taneytown, MD; grandchildren, James Patterson, III, Elleana Al-Ajmi, Kathryn Dominguez (Tim) and Steven Hartley and great grandson, Malachi Dominguez.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Carroll Adkins.
A funeral service for Donald R. Adkins will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11 AM at First Baptist Church, 5015 Baltimore Pike, Littlestown, with his nephew, Rev. Jonathan Mikesell, officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Monday, April 6th, from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at Little’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown, and on Tuesday from 10 AM until the start of the service at the Church. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown, PA.
