Obituary: Jerry L. Laughman

Jerry L. Laughman, 69 of Hanover, PA, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 3, 2026, at UPMC Hanover Hospital.

He was born March 9, 1957, in Hanover, PA, son of the late Walter J. & Ruth I. (Baker) Laughman. Jerry is survived by his wife, Flora E. (Sterner) Laughman.

Jerry was an independent truck driver for many years before his switch to driving for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections for 20 years.

He enjoyed the outdoors, corn hole, and hunting. Jerry was a member of the Centenary Global Methodist Church in Biglerville, PA.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Shultz (Ron) of Cashtown, PA, daughter-in-law, Sherry Gochenauer of Biglerville, PA, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Wayne Laughman (Linda) and Jim Laughman (Pat), three sisters, Gloria Spangler (Jim), Cindy Garcia (Cecelio) and Debra Landaverde, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Rick Gochenauer, and 4 brothers, Larry. Kenny, Walter, and Ronnie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Global Methodist Church, 99 N. Main St., Biglerville, PA 17307, with Rev. Gary Fanus officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 AM. A private burial will take place in the McKnightstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Centenary Global Methodist Church, Biglerville, PA. The Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg is assisting the family with the arrangements.
