Obituary: Denise D. Baker

Denise D. Baker, 73 of Orrtanna, PA, died suddenly at the Gettysburg Hospital on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Born in Waynesboro, PA, on December 27, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd & Pauline (Daywalt) Coffman.

Denise is survived by her husband of forty three years, Charles J. Baker. She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Buchanan Valley.

Denise had worked at the Gettysburg Transformer Co. for 29 years before her retirement. She very much enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. Denise was a member of the Fairfield AMVETS, looked forward to her trips to Lancaster with her husband, and tended to her garden.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Danny Carbaugh of Biglerville, PA and Steve Carbaugh (Norma) of Gettysburg, PA, two grandchildren, Logan and Samantha Carbaugh, two great grandchildren, Delaney and Kendall Carbaugh, four siblings, Donna Cheslock of Chambersburg, PA, Cyndi Jacobson of North Carolina, Sharron Bucher of Hanover, PA and Floyd Coffman of Waynesboro. Denise was predeceased by a grandson, Jessie Carbaugh, and two brothers, Randall and Lloyd Coffman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 20, 2026, at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 1095 Church Road, Orrtanna, PA, with Fr. Joseph R. Howard, Celebrant. A Viewing for Denise will be held at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 3:00-5:00 PM. Burial will take place in St. Ignatius Cemetery following the Mass.
