It is with deep sorrow that the family of Barbara L. Martin announces her peaceful passing at home, after a lengthy illness under hospice care. With the love of family surrounding her, she entered into eternal rest on May 1, 2026, at the age of 80.
Born in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late George C. Plank and Ruth B. (Miller) Plank.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 62 years, Donald W. Martin. Together, they worked side by side for 27 years in their family businesses, Martin’s Farm Dairy and Martin’s Meats and Bakery.
She was a woman who loved well and was well loved.
She will also be greatly missed by her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa McFadden (husband, Bill) of Orrtanna, PA. Her grandchildren include Megan McFadden of Philadelphia, PA (husband, Adam Naj; daughter, Willa; and son, Drew), Curtis McFadden of East Earl, PA (wife, Kaitlyn; daughters, Brynn and Lacey; and sons, Everett and Sawyer), and Benjamin McFadden of Gettysburg, PA (wife, Brittani; daughters, Lyla, Elsie, and Maisie; and son, James). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ridge Wagner (wife, Kristen; daughters, Callie and Rhiannon; and son, Colby) and Brooke Wagner (daughter, Zaylee).
Her siblings will forever hold dear their childhood memories with their sister: brother, Robert Plank (wife, Annette); sister, Lindora Irvin (husband, John); and sister, Joan Weaver (husband, Richard), all of Gettysburg, PA.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Wagner-McNabb, who passed away in March 2024, and by son-in-Law, David Wagner.
A Memorial Mass for Barbara will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 8, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 256 Tract Rd., Fairfield, PA. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Gettysburg. The family will receive friends on Friday morning at the church from 10:00 until the time of Mass.
