Daniel A. “Danny” Hilliard, 70 of Gettysburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at WellSpan York Hospital.
Born June 10, 1955, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Richard & Florence (Miller) Hilliard.
Danny is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Denise M. (Cook) Hilliard, his son, Colin D. Hilliard of St. Petersburg, FL, his sisters, Lynn Grimes (Bob) of Georgetown, Texas, and Sherry Ramminger (John) of Fort Pierce, FL, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was a 1973 graduate of Gettysburg High School. Danny retired in 2018 as Director of Public Works for the Borough of Gettysburg. He had been employed for over thirty years with the borough.
During his retirement years, Danny served as Maintenance Manager for the Meadowbrook Golf Club in Gettysburg. His memberships included American Legion Post #202, VFW Post #15, New Oxford Social Club, Catholic War Veterans, Fairfield Amvets, and a life member of the Gettysburg Fire Dept. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his golfing vacations with his friends.
Danny was predeceased by a sister, Sally Plank, a brother, Richard Hilliard, and his beloved fur babies, Bubba, Baxter, and Bosworth.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00-10:30 AM. Online tributes and condolences can be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
