Obituary: James R. Codori

James R. “Jim” Codori, age 91 of Gettysburg, PA, peacefully passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, with his beloved family by his side.

Born in Gettysburg, PA on April 28, 1935, he was the son of the late Richard S. & Helen E. (Colgan) Codori.

Jim was predeceased by his wife of fifty-five years, Doris Jean (Raffensperger) Codori, who died July 11, 2013.

He was a graduate of Delone Catholic High and attended Mount St. Mary’s College.

Jim proudly served during the Korean War as a corpsman with the U.S. Navy and United States Marine Corps. He was a life member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Gettysburg.

Jim was the founder and owner & operator, along with his son, of Codori Memorials in Gettysburg.

He was a wonderful family man, loyal friend, and all-around good person. He was a former board member of the Gettysburg Hospital and past-president of the Tri-State Monument Builders Association.

Jim is survived by his five children, Dr. Gregory Codori and wife Tami, Kimberly Robison and husband Richard, Christina Ricker and husband Carl “Pete”, Christopher Codori and wife Stacey, all of Gettysburg, and Sarah Goulet and husband John of Frederick, MD, fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, brother, Michael P. Codori and his wife Mary of Rockville, MD. Jim was predeceased by a brother, Richard C. Codori.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 25 West High St., Gettysburg, PA, with Fr. Timothy Marcoe, Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30-11:00 AM.

The family invites you to wear colorful clothing to help celebrate a life well lived. Entombment will follow the Mass in St. Francis Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church, 455 Table Rock Road, Gettysburg, PA. Online tributes and condolences may be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
