Obituary: Nancy Zenuch

Nancy Zenuch, 93, of Carlisle, PA, entered her Heavenly home into the arms of Jesus on Monday, June 1, 2026. She was born on April 22, 1933, in Shamokin, PA, to the late Harry E. and Mary (Jones) Spayde. Nancy was the widow of Andrew “Bruce” Zenuch who passed away in February of 2021.

Nancy adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved her family, friends, and celebrating holidays and birthdays. She liked to stay busy and led an active life. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and will be remembered for her outgoing and outspoken personality. Working in her garden was her favorite place to be. She will be remembered by many as “the queen of cards”. Once you were on Nancy’s list, she sent you cards for the rest of your life.

She worked in many offices over the years. She was the switchboard operator at Carlisle Tire & Rubber, a sales rep at Carlisle Syntec, an administrative assistant at Stoner Associates. She continued to work part-time into her 80’s in Carlisle after her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter, Ramona (husband, Mark) Mateya; grandsons Austin (wife, Samantha) Makowski, Taylor (partner, Liz) Makowski; granddaughter, Miranda (husband, Youssef) Mahmoud, and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Beverly Berrier. Nancy was predeceased in death by her husband, Andrew Zenuch; sisters, Mary Ellen Koeberle, Paula Covaleski; brother, Harry Spayde.

The family would like to thank her friends, family, and neighbors who visited and stayed in touch with her over the years. We would like to thank all of the staff at Chapel Pointe, especially those who lovingly took care of her and made sure she was comfortable the past few months.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 29, at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Chapel Pointe, 770 S Hanover St, Carlisle, PA 17013. A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite charity. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
