Saturday’s Upper Adams celebration will include a parade shuttle service

Residents and visitors planning to attend the Upper Adams Communities’ America 250 celebration on Saturday are encouraged to take advantage of a free shuttle service designed to ease parking and traffic during the day’s festivities.

The June 13 event will commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary and feature a parade through Biglerville Borough, followed by a community celebration at Oakside Community Park.

Organizers are encouraging parade spectators to park at Oakside Community Park and ride a shuttle bus to Main Street in Biglerville for the parade. Parking at the park will open at 11 a.m., and the final shuttle to the parade route will depart at 12:30 p.m.

Accessible parking will be available at the Biglerville Fire Department for visitors displaying a valid handicap placard or license plate. Handicap parking will be available from 11 a.m. to noon.

Following the parade, shuttle buses will return spectators to Oakside Community Park, where the celebration will continue with live entertainment, food vendors, craft vendors and family-friendly activities. The final shuttle returning to the park will depart at 3 p.m.

Those wishing to return to Oakside Park after the parade must board the shuttle at the Biglerville Fire Department.

The celebration is part of the nationwide America 250 observance marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Local organizers say the event is intended to bring together residents of Upper Adams and surrounding communities for a day of patriotism, entertainment, and community spirit.

With large crowds expected, attendees are encouraged to arrive early, use the designated parking areas and take advantage of the shuttle service to simplify travel to and from the parade route.

The day’s activities at Oakside Community Park will continue after the parade, offering opportunities for visitors of all ages to enjoy music, food, and crafts.
