Local residents will have an opportunity to learn more about music therapy and tour a new downtown facility when Tonality Music Therapy hosts an open house on Saturday, June 20.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tonality’s new location at 430 Baltimore St., Gettysburg.
The open house is designed to introduce community members to the organization’s new space and provide information about the services it offers. Visitors will be able to meet staff members while exploring the facility, where on-site programs and therapy sessions are conducted.
Families, friends, community partners, and anyone interested in learning more about music therapy can stop by during the event.
Music therapy is an evidence-based healthcare profession that uses music and musical activities to help individuals achieve therapeutic goals. Services can support people of all ages and abilities in areas such as communication, emotional expression, cognitive development, physical rehabilitation and social engagement. Sessions may involve singing, instrument playing, movement, songwriting, listening activities and other music-based interventions tailored to a person’s needs.
Tonality Music Therapy provides services led by trained and credentialed professionals who use music as a clinical tool to address physical, emotional, cognitive and social goals.
The open house will offer community members a chance to learn more about how music therapy works, the populations it serves and the programs available through Tonality. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions and become familiar with the organization’s new home in downtown Gettysburg.
The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
