Obituary: Linda E. Zhea

Linda E. Zhea, 79, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, July 6, 2026, at Gettysburg Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on June 18, 1947, in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles “Bud” Zhea and Marion (Reibold) Zhea.

Linda was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Gettysburg and a proud 1966 graduate of Gettysburg High School. She began her career with L.E. Smith Newspaper and Magazine Distributors, which later became Mid-State Enterprises in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. She later spent the majority of her working years with Eastern National and Events Network, where she served visitors in the bookstores at Gettysburg National Military Park.

Linda devoted her life to helping others and was known for her kind, generous spirit and heart of gold. She found joy in caring for her beloved cats, tending her beautiful gardens, reading, and, above all, spending time with her family. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her nephews, Kris Zhea and his wife, Karen; Kristian Zhea; Kallen Zhea; and Kevin Zhea and his wife, Haley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles R. “Bob” Zhea.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Family and friends are invited to visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Private interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
