Ms. Poje was an engaged member of the Gettysburg community. She was very involved in the local Republican Party and was a constant volunteer at every election. She was also a longtime and devoted member of St. Francis Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and often lent her soprano voice to weddings and funerals. Indeed, Ms. Poje Glenn was imbued with a love of music, which motivated her to participate in the Gettysburg Community Choir’s concerts and to contribute financially to the Gettysburg Children’s Choir. Her generosity extended to Gettysburg’s annual Giving Spree, where she made sure she contributed to The Adams County Community Foundation, known for its good deeds within the community, as well as to several other charities. A lifelong lover of cats, she was never without two or three in her home and also supported strays. She was a firm believer in and supporter of animal welfare. Elisabeth Poje Glenn will be remembered as a woman with an unshakeable commitment to those she held dear as well as to issues she viewed as essential to a strong community.
