With broken hearts, we share the passing of Devin Lee Rickabaugh, who passed away on July 7, 2026, at the age of 39. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he shared and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Devin was a proud graduate of Big Spring High School and Penn State University. He went on to build his own business as the owner of Rickabaugh Lawn Service LLC, taking great pride in serving his community through hard work, dedication, and integrity. He didn’t just have lawn customers; he had lawn communities – Devin’s business grew because he was skilled at his craft and he visited his customers with a smile.
Above all else, Devin’s greatest joy was his family. He was the devoted husband of his beloved bride, Amanda (Dugan) Rickabaugh, and the proud, loving father of Emmett Lee Rickabaugh and Truett Lee Rickabaugh. Being Amanda’s husband and the father of Emmett and Truett was the greatest privilege of his life. He poured his heart into creating a home filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. His boys were the light of his life, and there was nothing he loved more than being their dad.
Devin is survived by his wife, Amanda; his parents, Gary and Donna Rickabaugh; his cherished sons, Emmett and Truett; his brother, Colby Rickabaugh, and sister-in-law, Bradlee Rickabaugh; his beloved nephews, Cutter and Chevy; his cherished niece, Cru; and in-laws, Allen and Kitty Dugan. He also leaves behind countless aunts, uncles, cousins, lifelong friends, and friends who became family, all of whom were deeply impacted by his kindness, loyalty, and generous heart. Waiting to greet him with open arms were his Nanny and Pappy Wiser and mother-in-law, Cathy Dugan.
Devin had an extraordinary gift for bringing people together. He loved spending time with family and friends, whether it was on the golf course, at a cabin, cheering on Penn State football and wrestling, gathering around great food, or celebrating life’s moments—big and small. He loved a good party, treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by those he cared about, and never missed a chance to make someone laugh. There was rarely a stranger in Devin’s presence; he welcomed everyone with open arms and treated his friends’ families as if they were his own.
Those who knew Devin will forever remember his contagious laugh, unforgettable smile, and the genuine happiness he brought into every room. He had a remarkable way of making people feel welcome, valued, and loved. He embraced life with gratitude and enthusiasm, making the ordinary feel extraordinary simply by being himself. The countless stories, laughter, adventures, and memories he created with family and friends will be cherished forever.
Some people measure a life by its length. Devin’s life will be measured by the depth of his love, the strength of his friendships, and the countless lives he touched. His greatest legacy lives on in the hearts of all who loved him and in the lives of his two precious boys, who will forever carry their father’s love, spirit, and smile with them.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Devin’s life during a visitation on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., followed immediately by a funeral service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. Pastor Shad Baker will officiate the funeral. Immediately following the funeral service, we will welcome those who were not able to visit prior to the service.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Newville Little League Association, PO Box 44, Newville, PA 17241, in Devin’s memory.
