New Oxford High School’s Colonial Stadium has been voted Pennsylvania’s favorite high school football stadium in a statewide readers’ poll conducted by the USA Today Network.
The Adams County venue captured 46% of the vote, finishing first among football stadiums across the state with 1,132 votes after thousands of ballots were cast by readers.
The recognition highlights Colonial Stadium, home of the New Oxford Colonials football team, as one of the premier Friday night destinations for high school football fans in Pennsylvania.
The stadium underwent a major renovation in 2004, modernizing the facility with a new artificial turf playing surface and upgraded seating. The venue has a capacity of approximately 4,000 spectators and serves as the centerpiece of New Oxford’s athletic campus.
The statewide poll invited readers to vote for their favorite high school football stadiums, with New Oxford emerging as the clear winner. Thousands of votes were cast before Colonial Stadium claimed the top spot, earning recognition as Pennsylvania’s most popular high school football venue.
Following Colonial Stadium, Aliquippa’s Heinz Field, more widely known as “The Pit,” took second place, while Veterans Memorial Stadium in Erie took third. Rounding out the top five were Dallastown’s Wildcat Stadium and Berlin Brothersvalley’s Center Rock Inc. Sports Complex in Berlin, Pa.
