Dennis Ora Russell, 90, of Gettysburg, PA, died Sunday morning, July 12, 2026, at his daughter’s home in Hanover.
Born July 25, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of the late Ora and Doris (Stocker) Russell. He was the husband of the late Shirley Ann (Mongan) Russell, who passed May 25, 2021.
Dennis worked primarily as an optician; when he retired, he worked as a security guard, as well as a tour bus driver on the Gettysburg Battlefield.
Dennis is survived by his three children, Denise Ann England and her husband Josiah, of Manchester, MD, Lisa Marie Hager, of Hanover, PA, William Lewis Ora Russell, of Gettysburg, PA, five grandchildren Stephanie Sue Stover and her husband Brian Christopher, Melissa Sueanne Williams, Daniel William Ora Gizara, Taylor Marie England, Cameron David Gizara, two great grandchildren, Zayden Alexander Ora Gizara, Raylynn “Ariel” Marie Stover, two sisters, Patty Rath, Sandy Hinkle, and his beloved dog, Bella. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ray Hager, and his sister, Terry.
A Memorial Service for Dennis will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA.
