Relay for Life aims to reach its goal on Saturday in Biglerville

The Adams County Relay For Life will return to Oakside Community Park in Biglerville on Saturday, inviting residents to help support the American Cancer Society while enjoying an evening of family-friendly activities.

The event will run from 5 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 8 and is open to the public, including those who are not part of a Relay team. Organizers say the evening will feature vendors, raffles and activities for all ages. Dogs are not permitted.

This year’s Adams County Relay For Life has raised more than $36,000 toward its $45,000 fundraising goal for the American Cancer Society. Organizers are encouraging community members to attend and help close the remaining gap through donations, raffle participation and purchases from vendors.

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature community fundraising event. Held in communities across the United States for more than 40 years, Relay events celebrate cancer survivors, honor those who have lost their lives to cancer, recognize caregivers and raise money for cancer research, patient support programs and advocacy efforts. The volunteer-driven movement is considered the world’s largest peer-to-peer fundraising event dedicated to the fight against cancer.
