Erma Jane (Warner) Airing, age 98, of Taneytown, passed away on August 4, 2026, at Taneytown Lorien. Born January 25, 1928, in Adams County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late David A. and Annabelle (Clingan) Warner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Airing, who passed away in 2008.
Erma is survived by her brother, Raymond Warner and wife Phyllis of Littlestown, PA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 12 siblings. Brothers: George, Clarence, Oscar, and Fred Warner. Sisters: Grace Litz, Anna Catherine Warner, Elizabeth Study, Helen Ferris, Edna Bair, Eva Groft, Ethel Airing, and Marie Carbaugh.
Erma attended Mt. Vernon School (Littlestown). She was a member of Mayberry Archery and a life member of Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown. She worked at Cambridge Rubber Co. in Taneytown and Black & Decker in Hampstead.
Erma was loved very much by her family and friends. She loved doing word puzzles, reading the newspaper, and watching her game shows. She loved watching the birds, deer, and wildlife outside her window. Erma was a true Orioles fan and looked forward to watching their games on TV. Her family will always remember her for her homemade cookies and dandelion wine that she would share at our family gatherings.

The funeral service will be held Monday, August 10th at 11 a.m. at Little’s Funeral Home (34 Maple St., Littlestown, Pa.), with Pastor Wilmer of Emmanuel Baust UCC officiating. Viewing will be Sunday, Aug. 9th, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Monday, 10 a.m. till time of service.
Interment will follow the service at Grace United Church of Christ, 49 West Baltimore St., Taneytown, Md. 21787.
