Carolyn Black McFeaters awoke in the loving arms of her Savior on August 3, 2026.
Born to Glenn and Ina Black in September of 1943, she was the much-loved eldest sibling to her sisters Linda and Jane and brothers Larry and Laverne. After graduating from Carlisle High School, she married her high-school sweetheart, George Boyer McFeaters, Jr., in December of 1961 and shared almost 65 years of love with him.
She was a remarkable woman with almost endless energy and limitless love for her family members. A loving and dedicated mother, entrepreneurial salesperson, and successful real estate agent, she always championed those less fortunate. Passionate about all things spiritual, she lived her life modeling her Lord and the actions she felt He would take. She was particularly fond of roses and enjoyed Sunday drives through the countryside to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.
Her grandchildren will remember her for Cousin’s Camps, special trips and outings she planned just for them. Erin, Meredith, James, Olivia, Neil, Dylan, Megan, Sophia, Sadie, Isaac, and bonus grandson Matthew will remember her legacy of faith and love all their lives. She was a proud great-grandmother to Phoebe, Boaz, Eliora, Theodore, Logan, Felix, Jenna, Sean, Tirzah, McKinley, Alana, Orville, Luke, Carlos, Matthias, Beatrice, and Peregrin.
She is preceded in death by her eldest son George William (Bill), her son-in-law Kraig Brownlee, and granddaughter Deborah Marie. Her three surviving children, Carolyn (Beth), Thomas and his wife Tracy, Suzan and her husband Christopher, and daughter-in-law Kathleen, will remember her with great love even as they mourn her loss.
Services will be held on August 11 at Calvary Bible Church on Wilson Avenue in Hanover, PA. Viewing will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with the Memorial Service commencing at 11:00 am. She will be interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hanover, PA.
