From gardening and Italian cooking to painting and tap dancing, the Adams County Arts Council is offering a variety of classes as summer gives way to fall.

The following week brings opportunities for both cooks and gardeners. “The Italian Harvest: Tomato Passata & Fresh Pasta,” featuring Chef Fabio, will be offered Thursday, Aug. 27, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Also that day, participants can create a clay pocket planter for a wall during a workshop from 5 to 8 p.m.

Those interested in taking their creativity outdoors can sign up for “Fall Plein Air Painting in Gettysburg,” scheduled Tuesdays, Sept. 1 through Sept. 22, from 2 to 5 p.m. Plein air painting involves creating artwork outdoors while observing the landscape and changing natural light.

The Arts Council will also offer an intermediate/advanced tap class on Wednesdays, Sept. 9 through Oct. 14, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Additional classes are available throughout the season. Fees vary by program, with discounted prices offered to Adams County Arts Council members.

The Adams County Arts Council, incorporated in 1993, has grown from a small group of organizers into a nonprofit arts organization with more than 400 members. Its mission is to cultivate an arts-rich community through educational programs, classes, and other activities.

You can register and view a complete list of upcoming classes on the Adams County Arts Council website at AdamsArts.org. More information is also available by calling 717-334-5006.
