The Adams County Arts Council (ACAC) Board of Directors and staff proudly announce Jessica Boyer, Ph.D., as the organization’s new Executive Director as of August 24, 2026. “After a thorough search, the Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Jessica Boyer as the new Executive Director,” said Board President Scott Coyle. “Her extensive leadership background and strong ties already present in our community make her a natural fit to help ACAC continue to grow and thrive.”

Earning her Ph.D. in Leadership from Concordia University Chicago, Boyer served as Director of the Library at Mount St. Mary’s University (Emmitsburg, MD), where she was responsible for education programming and services, personnel and building operations, and grant writing. She also served as an adjunct instructor in the Department of History and the University Honors Programs. Her academic experience also includes authoring numerous articles and book chapters and presenting research across the country, including the importance of preserving artists’ stories at the Smithsonian Institution.

Boyer has been an active member of the Adams County community since moving to Gettysburg in 2016, including volunteer work with the Adams County Library System, Main Street Gettysburg, The Gleaning Project, The Land Conservancy of Adams County, and Christ Lutheran Church. She has also been a longtime supporter of the Adams County Arts Council as a member, frequently attending classes, programs, and fundraising events.

“I’m thrilled to join the Adams County Arts Council,” said Boyer. “I look forward to building on its mission and strong foundation to cultivate a vibrant and accessible arts community across Adams County.”
