A new family destination is coming to Gettysburg, offering children a chance to play, explore, imagine and discover. Land of Adventures, located at 125 Glenwood Drive in Gettysburg, will host a soft-opening sneak peek this weekend on August 28-30, 2026. The following weekend, September 4-7, 2026, will be the grand opening.
Created by Deb Hill and her family, Land of Adventures is designed to be a place where children can let their imaginations run free while families enjoy a day together. The park will feature an adventure playground, Adventure Town, giant jumping pillow, gem mining, pedal carts, duck races, sports games, obstacle course, a petting zoo, and more. Birthday parties will also be available.
The property of Land of Adventures was created where Land of Little Horses previously operated. The Hill family had considered developing the concept at another local location, but when this property became available, they saw an opportunity to bring their vision to life.
The Hills dreamed of having a farm agricultural themed business, and the property, which had been established for more than 50 years, provided an opportunity to combine that dream with their vision for a family adventure park.
“We want this to be a place for the whole family to come together,” Hill said. A major goal is to encourage families to put down their screens and spend time playing and exploring.”
One of Hill’s favorite areas of the park is Adventure Town, an imaginative play area where children can step into the roles of adults in a village filled with 10 storefronts and pretend they are running their own businesses. The town includes a bakery, post office and pizza shop, and more, giving children the opportunity to use their imaginations and interact.
With activities designed for a variety of ages, Land of Adventures aims to provide something for everyone in the family. Children can have fun on the playground, climb on the hay bale station, and bounce on the giant jumping pillow.
The petting zoo includes goats and will expand further this fall. There is a sunflower field to enjoy. As the fall progresses so will Land of Adventures. There will be pick your own pumpkins, a corn maze, tractor rides, and more.
Regular hours will be Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5:00 p.m. The seasonal attraction will be open to the public April through November. Visitors may purchase food on site or pack a picnic.
Hill and her family hope Land of Adventures will become more than just another place to visit in Gettysburg. Their vision is to create a destination where families can slow down, play together, and use their imagination. Families are invited to spend the day and discover what adventures await. Come and create memories together that last long after the adventure is over.
