Cross Keys Village offers memory support and screening programs

Cross Keys Village in New Oxford is offering several programs this fall aimed at supporting people experiencing memory loss and the family members and others who care for them.

The Memory Care Education program at Cross Keys Village provides support for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or another neurocognitive disorder, along with their care partners.

As part of the program, memory support groups are offered at Cross Keys Village and are open at no cost to both Village residents and people from the surrounding community.

Cross Keys Village also offers free memory screenings throughout the year using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, commonly known as MoCA. The standardized, non-invasive screening is designed to help identify possible cognitive changes. Appointments may be scheduled throughout the year.

A special fall Memory Screening Event is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. The screenings are part of twice-yearly events offered each spring and fall to make the service more readily available to the community.

Cross Keys Village is located at 227 Village Drive, New Oxford.
