Robert Anthony ”Bob” Sette, 93, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away Thursday morning, September 10, 2026, at Genesis Gettysburg Center. Born September 26, 1932, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Sebastian Dominic and Mary Louise (Dascenzo) Sette. He was married to Vincenza “Vinnie” (Tiberia) Sette for 60 years. She passed away on November 17, 2020.

Bob was a graduate of Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, PA, with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He also had a master’s degree in counseling from Shippensburg State College in Shippensburg, PA. Bob was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a first lieutenant.

Bob worked as an electrical engineer for Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Buffalo, NY, and Westinghouse and Schindler Elevator Company in Gettysburg, PA, for many years. He also worked as a counselor for Adams-Hanover Counseling Center in Gettysburg, PA, first in the evenings and then full-time after retiring from his engineering job at Schindler Elevator.

Bob enjoyed skiing, playing tennis, sailing, and polka dancing with Vinnie. He also played the trumpet and guitar.

Bob is survived by twin daughters, Marisa Anne Sette of Kansas City, MO and Carla Marie Sette of Cockeysville, MD. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Louise “Mary Lou” Wessell of Pittsburgh, PA, as well as many nieces and nephews. His sister, Geraldine “Geri” Chichilla, preceded him in death.

A Memorial Mass for Bob and Vinnie will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 25 W. High St., Gettysburg, PA. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Sep. 30, at the church.
