Arthur E. Gantz, 77, of York, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Vina “Joann” (Blevins) Gantz.

Born June 9, 1949, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, Arthur was the son of the late Arthur Eugene Senft and Vergie May (Gantz) Senft.

A lifelong resident of the York area, Arthur attended Susquehannock High School before entering the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving his country. Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Above all, Arthur treasured the time he spent with his family and friends and the many memories they shared together.

Arthur is survived by his sisters, Marie M. Rhodes and her husband, Don, of York; Connie A. Morrison and her companion, Joe Ellingsworth, of York; Sidney E. West and her husband, James, of Dover; and Creeda G. Ayers and her husband, Marlon, of Dover. He is also survived by his loving stepchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family members; and many dear friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Arthur was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Senft, and his sister, Mardell Messersmith, and her husband, John.

A service to celebrate Arthur’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Little’s Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown, PA, with Rev. Cindy Orewiler officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Rhodes, Danny Blevins, Marty Lentz, Craig Ayers, Nathan Ayers, and Michael Lentz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Arthur’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
