Donald G. Blevins

Donald G. Blevins, 80, of Gettysburg, PA, went to meet with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 5:47 pm at the UPMC York Hospital Select Care Unit. Born April 29, 1946, in Fayetteville, WV, he was the son of the late George N. and Stella M. (Rash) Blevins. He was the husband of Cynthia J. (Schlegel) Blevins, of Gettysburg, to whom he was married for 58 years.

Mr. Blevins was a 1964 graduate of Fayetteville High School. He then enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1966. After a short term working for Hewlett-Packard, he achieved his desire to join the Pennsylvania State Police. After graduating from the PA State Police Academy, he proudly served as a State Trooper, stationed at the Gettysburg Barracks, until his retirement in 1992. During the 2nd half of his career with the PA State Police, he was assigned as a Criminal Investigator and was a negotiator for the SERT team. He was actively involved in organizing the local Crime Stoppers and continued to serve on the board for 30 years. Being an avid classic car enthusiast, he was the founder of Gettysburg Classic Cars. He was a long-time active member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Gettysburg.

In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his two sons, David W. Blevins and his wife Rebecca, of Gettysburg, PA, Adam P. Blevins and his wife Michelle, of Gettysburg, PA, his four grandchildren, Michaela Blevins, Brianna Pater and her husband Matthew, Christopher Blevins, Autumn Blevins, his twin brother, Ronald N. Blevins, of Oak Hill, WV, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six siblings, Beatrice Mundy, Sarah Hash, William Blevins, Helen Agee, Joyce Robinson, and Peggy Taylor.

A visitation for Don will be held from 2 – 4 PM, Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. An additional visitation will take place from 10-11 AM, Monday, September 28, 2026, prior to the service, which will be held at 11 AM at Trinity UCC, 60 East High St., Gettysburg, PA, with Rev. Dr. Fred Young officiating. Burial will take place at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Adamsburg Cemetery, in Beaver Springs, PA, Snyder County.
