Stephanie Galysh, 80, of East Berlin, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at her home. Born in Gangkofen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Iwan and Maria (Lotoszynska) Cebrij and the wife of the late Taras Galysh.
Galysh worked for many years as a mortgage broker in the banking industry and also worked for IBM. She was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbottstown. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her ladies’ lunch group at Immaculate Heart of Mary, and caring for her three cats.
Survivors include her siblings, Eugene Cebrij and his wife, Sandy; Mike Cebrij and his wife, Patti; and Slawka Cebrij; nieces and nephews Claire, Laura and John Cebrij and Roman Galysh and his wife, Christine; and great-nieces and great-nephew Anastasia, Sophia, Madelyn and Roman Jr.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 27, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Feiser Funeral & Cremation Care, 306 Harrisburg St., East Berlin, followed by a Panakhyda service at 7:30 p.m. A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Campbell Hall, New York.
