GETTYSBURG, PA — The PEOPLE Project™ returns this fall as part of Adams County’s yearlong America250PA celebration with an extensive list of partners comprised of individuals, local businesses, and nonprofits.
The Project’s producers, ChrysaLis Communications and Celebrate Gettysburg magazine, are particularly excited to announce a partnership with Community Media of South Central PA, which will livestream the event and co-produce the wrap-up video documenting the project’s development in 2026.
The live event is scheduled for Thursday, October 15 at 7 p.m. in the Majestic Theater’s Cinema One, and includes local storytellers as well as musicians Honey on the Rocks, Chuck Darwin and the Knuckle Draggers, and singers from the Gettysburg Community Theatre.
The PEOPLE Project’s 2026 theme, Generations & Crossroads, explores the moments, relationships, and decisions that shape our lives and our communities across time. As communities across Pennsylvania commemorate 250 years of American history, The PEOPLE Project invites participants to look beyond historical events and explore the personal crossroads of family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues whose presence and decisions shape the culture of Adams County today. Through first-person storytelling, visual art, and music, the project celebrates pivotal experiences that connect us to one another.

The PEOPLE Project Continues at Waldo’s in November
Following the live performance, the public is invited to a free, First Friday reception for The PEOPLE Project Art Exhibit at Waldo’s & Co. on November 6 at 6 p.m. Fourteen local artists will share their work on the theme “Generations & Crossroads” throughout the month of November.
“This may be the best collaboration across businesses, non-profits, and individual supporters we’ve seen yet for this project,” says Project producer and director Lisa Cordiano. “Community involvement, collaboration and the participant-driven nature of this Project are what make it meaningful for everyone involved, and our community’s continued enthusiasm is inspiring.”
