Virginia L. “Ginny” Gossman, 86, of Aspers, formerly of Baltimore, died Oct. 2, 2026, at home surrounded by family. Born Dec. 28, 1939, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Virginia E. Marvel Reed. She and her husband, Frederick A. “Fred” Gossman, had been married for 57 years.
Gossman worked as a telephone operator for C&P Telephone, in office and retail positions, and as a dog groomer. Her family said her favorite role was raising her children as a stay-at-home mother. She enjoyed vacations in Cape May, music, cowboy programs, World War II films, and dancing with her husband.
In addition to her husband, survivors include children Richard W. “Rick” Dosch of Aspers and Deb Dorbert of Littlestown; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and brother Frank Reed of Essex, Maryland. She was preceded in death by son Frank Dosch Jr., sister Elizabeth “Betty” Milstred, and brothers John and Charles Reed.
A viewing is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. A Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Littlestown, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adams County SPCA.
