Dora B. Smith, 79, of Gettysburg, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, at WellSpan York Hospital. She was born April 9, 1947, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Isadora (Williams) Johnson.
Smith worked for more than 20 years at the deli counter at Kennie’s Market in Gettysburg. Earlier in her career, she worked for Carroll Valley Borough and the Adams County Housing Authority.
She is survived by her son, William Smith of Gettysburg, and granddaughter, Leigha Jordan-Smith of Morgantown, West Virginia. Survivors also include five siblings: Shirley Johnson, Dave Johnson, Michael Johnson, Louis Johnson and Bernie Johnson.
She was preceded in death by five siblings: Lawrence Johnson, Alice Johnson, Josephine Brooks, Phil Johnson and Teresa Johnson.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m., one hour before the service.
